Windshield Violation Ends In CDS Arrest

On February 14, 2011 at about 1 p.m. in the area of West Westfield Avenue and Jerome Street, Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a beige Chrysler with the driver not wearing a seatbelt in violation of 39:3-76.2F and the vehicles windshield fractured in violation of 39:3-75. A motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of one (1) large Ziplock bag containing a small clear-purple bag containing suspected marijuana and one (1) multi-colored glass pipe containing suspected marijuana residue.

The driver, identified as David Gonzalez, age 19, of Elizabeth, was arrested and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana) 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia); 39:3-76.2F (seatbelt violation); 39:3-75 (windshield violation); and 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle). Gonzalez was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of February 24, 2011.
