On May 11, 2011, Patrolman James Kompany responded to the 100 block of Franklin Place for a report of a burglary to a vehicle. The complainant reported that he parked his work van on Franklin Place at approximately 5 p.m. on May 10, 2011. When he returned to his vehicle at 7 a.m. the next day, he noticed that the side doors were open. Further investigation revealed the lock mechanism had been pried open and several items were missing, specifically a tool bag containing hand tools, a Ridgid “JobMax”, a Dewalt drill, and a Dewalt sawzall. The total amount of these items was estimated to be $1,000.
