On April 26, 2011 at 5:56 a.m., a resident reported his 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck was entered through the passenger side front door and various electronic items stolen including a Garmin-brand “Nüvi” model GPS, a laptop computer, a handheld computer, and a digital microscope – all valued at approximately $3,600. The vehicle was parked in the rear lot of an apartment building on the 100 block of Jerome Street .
At 11 a.m. the victim called police headquarters and stated that the Westfield Police Department recovered the stolen items at the site of another vehicle burglary in their jurisdiction.
All of the items reported stolen were recovered and appear to be undamaged.
