Various Charges For Teen Driver

On December 13, 2010, at about 10:04 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a silver Chevy traveling eastbound on East Clay Avenue in the area of Walnut Street traveling at a high rate of speed – 45 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. A motor vehicle stop on East Clay Avenue at Hemlock Street resulted in the discovery of (8) small clear bags containing suspected CDS marijuana,  (3) clear blue bags containing suspected CDS marijuana, and (1) metal cylinder disguised as a cigarette used for smoking CDS marijuana.

    The driver, a 17 year old female Roselle Park resident was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana); 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia); 39:4-98 (speeding) and 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle). She was later released to the custody of a parent pending a hearing in family court.
