Unsafe Vehicle Violation Results In CDS Arrest

On Sunday, October 2, 2011 at approximately 8:56 a.m., while on Galloping Hill Road at Lincoln Avenue stopped at the red light, Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan observed a red Honda CR-V travel westbound off Magie Avenue and into Roselle Park onto Lincoln Avenue.

The front driver side wheel was tilted to a degree where the vehicle was obviously pulling to the left side. The top of the wheel was bent in and there was damage to the driver side of the vehicle as well as heavy damage to the front driver side rim. The third brake light was not functioning.

A motor vehicle stop on Bender Avenue resulted in the discovery of nine (9) small clear glass vials which contained a small white substance suspected to be crack cocaine and one (1) glass stem/pipe containing suspected CDS residue.

The driver, David Anzelone, age 47 of Roselle Park, was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of cocaine), 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia), 39:4-67 (obstructing traffic), 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps), 39:3-44 (unsafe vehicle), and 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle).

Mr. Anzelone was released pending a Union County Superior Court first appearance of October 12, 2011.
