On Friday, August 26, 2011 at approximately 10:44 p.m., Patrolman Mitchell White observed a brown Kia Forte failing to stop at a stop sign traveling eastbound on West Roselle Avenue across Chestnut Street onto East Roselle Avenue. A motor vehicle stop on the 800 block of Prospect Street resulted in the discovery of a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana.
The driver, Jaime Cobas, age 40 of Union, was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of CDS), 39:4-81 (failure to stop), and 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle) . Mr. Cobas was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of September 1, 2011.
