On Monday, January 3, 2011, at approximately 7:50 p.m., while on the 700 block of Galloping Hill Road, patrolman Nicholas Vaughan observed a silver Toyota travel northbound. The third brake light of this vehicle was not functioning in violation of 39:3-66. A motor vehicle stop was initiated on Lehigh Avenue resulting in the discovery of a clear plastic bag containing a suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, identified as Jeremy Pereira, 20, of Union was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana); 2C:36-2 (drug paraphernalia); 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps) and 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle) he was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of January 13, 2011.
