On April 6, 2011 at 3:51 p.m., Patrolman Joshua Medrano observed a grey Toyota traveling northbound on Locust Street in violation of 39:3-75 (tinted windows). A check of the license plate also revealed the registered owner to have an active warrant out of Middletown for $1,000 and out of Glen Ridge for $139.
A motor vehicle stop resulted in the driver of the vehicle being issued a summons for 39:3-40 (suspended driver). The front seat passenger / registered owner, Melissa Lopes, age 30 of Roselle Park was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants. Additionally, Ms. Lopes and the rear seat passenger, Katherina Pietrucha, age 31 of Elizabeth, NJ were found to be in possession of nine (9) blue round oxycodone hydrochloride 30 mg tablets wrapped in a fold of paper and six (6) yellow long oxycodone tablets in a round metal container.
Ms. Lopes was charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of CDS) and released after posting bail. Ms. Pietrucha was charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of CDS) and released. Both suspects were released pending a Superior Court date of April 18, 2011.
