Two new Probationary Police Officers were sworn in and hired through Resolutions 155-12 and 156-12. Kostantinos G. Vathianakis of New Milford, NJ and Dean Khallaf of Freehold were sworn in and will join the Roselle Park Police Department effective September 4, 2012. Both officers, who were hired each at a salary of $49,082.31, will be in a probationary status, as is policy, for one year.
With the retirement of Nick Adamski announced Thursday night and the previously announced retirement of Michael Antonucci, the hiring of the two patrolmen will return the RPPD to its full complement of police officers. A police study was undertaken by the governing body earlier this year to determine the organizational structure of the police force. That study is still in its draft stages.
