At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30th, Detective Richard Cocca observed an individual sitting in a parked van for an extended period of time on the 400 block of Cherry Street. Detective Cocca stopped to investigate and discovered that the occupant was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The owner of the van then walked back to the van from a nearby house. He too was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Arrested were Hector Carrillo-Figuero, a 41-year-old resident of Stroudsburg, PA and Jamie A. Correa, a 25-year-old resident of Palisades Park, NJ. During processing at RPPD, Correa was found to be concealing another small package of marijuana and he was additionally charged with 2c:35-10(C), failure to make lawful disposition. Both were processed at RPPD and released pending an appearance in the Roselle Park Municipal Court.
The investigation revealed that Carrillo-Figuero and Correa are construction contractors who were working at the nearby residence at the time of the stop.
