Two Men Arrested For Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia Possession

On Monday, April 30th,  Patrolman Kevin Florczak stopped a 1996 Nissan for traffic violations in front of 25 West Westfield Avenue. During the roadside investigation, Florczak reported that he detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The driver, Charnys A. Minier, age 21 of Hopelawn,NJ and the passenger, Johnny Cartagena, age 43 of Elizabeth, NJ were removed from the car. During a subsequent search, a bag of suspected marijuana was located in the passenger door as well as several items used to inhale or ingest a controlled dangerous substance. Those items include a metal grinder, an imitation metal cigarette, and a silver pipe. Both Minier and Cartagena were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending an appearance in Roselle Park Municipal Court.
