Two Juveniles Found With Slingshots At McDonald’s After Curfew

On Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at approximately 2:57 a.m. while on patrol, Patrolman Mitchell White observed two (2) males on bicycles who appeared to be juveniles in violation of the Roselle Park borough ordinance for curfew exiting the McDonald’s located on West Westfield Avenue. Officer White pulled into the McDonald’s parking lot and approached the juveniles – a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both of Clark, NJ. The juveniles stated they traveled through Clark, Linden, and Roselle to visit a friend who lives in Roselle Park. One (1) male was found to be in possession of a slingshot and 14 metal balls.

The juveniles and their bicycles were transported to headquarters without incident. Both parties were processed and released to their respective parents.

A NJTRAK message was sent out to advise surrounding towns of possible damage to property from the slingshot. The slingshot and metal balls were confiscated.
