On Saturday, April 15th, Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) officers responded to the 200 block of East Westfield Avenue on a report of a stolen bicycle. An employee of a local business reported that their bicycle was stolen from where it was parked behind the building. The bicycle – valued at $250 – was described as a mountain bicycle; light-blue & white in color. The bicycle was said to have been left unsecured at the time of the theft which occurred Friday night at approximately 11 o’clock at night. The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Roselle Park Police Department at (908) 245-2300.
The very next day, on Sunday, at around 9 p.m., RPPD officers responded to the Green Acres complex off of West Lincoln Avenue on a report that a resident had their bicycle stolen from where it was parked. The bicycle was described as a Diamondback BMX style bicycle; pink, brown, and white in color. It was valued at $350. The bicycle was said to have been left unsecured at the time of the theft which occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 9 o’clock at night.
RPPD reminds residents to make sure their bicycles are secured with a lock when unattended.
