Two Arrested & Vehicle Impounded

On Saturday, November 6, 2010 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan conducted a motor vehicle stop on Westfield Avenue at Faitoute Avenue on a blue Cadillac Deville with a view obstruction in violation of 39:3-74. The registered owner’s license was suspended.

The driver was identified as the registered owner, Tariq Saunders age 38, of Linden. The passenger was identified as Tinisha Woods, age 23, of East Orange.

An investigation led to the discovery of one (1) small clear/blue empty Ziplock bag containing suspected CDS marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded for uninsured vehicle. Both Saunders and Woods were placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10A(4) (possession of CDS); 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and Saunders was issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-74 (view obstruction), 39:3-40 (suspended driver), 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle), 39:3-29 (failure to produce registration), 39:6B-2 (uninsured vehicle).

Saunders and Woods were released R.O.R. pending a municipal court hearing on November 18, 2010.
