Two Arrested On Chestnut Street On CDS Charges

On May 23, 2011 at approximately 2:25 a.m., Patrolman Richard Gaylord observed a male pacing back and forth by a green Honda on Chestnut Street. When officer Gaylord approached the vehicle, the passenger side door was open. He further observed another male sleeping in the rear passenger seat. Louis Rivera was identified as the driver of the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Anibal
Murillo-Chinchilla. While speaking with the males, he observed a small clear plastic bag containing suspected cocaine. He awoke the rear seat passenger and asked him to exit the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in discovery of another plastic bag of suspected cocaine.

The driver, Louis Rivera, age 34 of Elizabeth, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of cocaine), 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle), 39:4-51(b) (open/unsealed alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle), and 39:3-40 (suspended drivers license). Mr. Rivera was released pending a Union County Superior Court date on May 27, 2011.

The passenger, Anibal Murillo-Chinchilla, age 24 of Elizabeth, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of cocaine). Mr. Chinchilla was released pending a Union County Superior Court date on May 27, 2011.
