Two Arrested On CDS Charges In Westfield Ave Apartment

On Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 8:24 p.m., Patrolmen John Deegan and Robert Harms responded to 415 East Westfield Avenue on a complaint of an odor of burning marijuana coming from an apartment. The complainant stated that in the basement hallway in front of Apartment GC there was a smell of burning marijuana. Officers detected a strong odor of burning marijuana and checked in front of both adjacent apartment doors which did not have the burning marijuana odor.

An investigation in Apartment GC resulted in the discovery of one (1) clear Ziplock bag which contained four (4) smaller bags containing suspected marijuana, one (1) “Entourage” vanilla flavored cigar wrapper, one (1) small clear ziplock bag containing suspected marijuana, and one (1) “Dutch Master” palma cigar.

Bryan Elliot, age 24 of Roselle Park and Munir Lowther, age 24 of Newark, were placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of CDS) and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and released pending a Municipal Court hearing on May 19, 2011.
