On Monday, February 17, 2014 at 9:59 p.m., Patrolman Brian Swick conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1993 Honda on the 500 block of West Westfield Avenue after discovering the rear license plate displayed on the vehicle was confirmed stolen out of the city of Paterson and that the plate was registered to a 1994 Honda. Further investigation revealed that the Honda was also confirmed to be stolen out of the city of Clifton.
The driver, Victor Beacham, age 29, from Newark was placed under arrest and charged with two (2) counts of receiving stolen property; his bail set at $30,000. The passenger, Joshua Dixon, age 21 from Paterson was arrested and charged with Unlawful Taking of Means of Conveyance and bail set at $15,000.
Both were transported and housed at the Union County Jail pending court.
