Two Armed Men Attempt To Rob Citgo Gas Station

On September 30, 2011 at 10:32 p.m., police responded to 452 East Westfield Avenue (Citgo gas station), for an unknown emergency. The gas station attendant stated that two (2) men just attempted to rob the gas station.

The attendant stated that while he was standing near the gas pumps, he observed two (2) black males approaching him from the west side of the building. The males were wearing black ski-masks, long-sleeve blue button-down shirts, and blue jeans. Each of the males was carrying a black handgun. Upon observing the suspects, the victim stated that he ran into the main office of the gas station and locked the door. The two (2) suspects attempted to break into the office by kicking the door, however they were unsuccessful.

The suspects then fled southbound on foot towards Roselle, down the driveway on the west side of the building where they were originally observed. No proceeds were taken and no damage was caused. A county alarm was sent out by dispatch. A check of the area by patrol, as well as the Union County Police K-9 unit, did not reveal any suspects.
