Two (2) Students Arrested For High School Fight

On June 3, 2011 at approximately 12:59 p.m., Patrolmen Robert Sobocinski and Michael Smith were dispatched to Roselle Park High School (RPHS) for a report of a fight in the cafeteria. Patrolman Michael Antonucci, Patrolman James Kompany, and Sergeant. Dominick Frino arrived on scene at this time to assist. Upon arrival, Patrolman Sobocinski entered the school through the door in the rear of the cafeteria. The officers were informed that the two (2) students had been separated. En route to the nurse’s office, Patrolman Sobocinski noticed that the glass in a cafeteria door had been shattered. Arriving at the office, the juvenile admitted that he had punched the window out.

After further investigation it was determined that the students had exchanged words with each other and then engaged in a physical altercation.

One juvenile, age 17 of Roselle Park was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:12-1(a) (simple assault) and 2C:17-3 (criminal mischief). He was released to a parent.

The other student, Chadler Joseph, age 18 of Roselle Park was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:12-1(a) (simple assault). He was released pending a future Roselle Park Municipal Court date.
