Traffic Stop On Locust Street Ends In Heroin Possession Arrest

On Sunday February 26, 2012, Patrolman Kevin Florczak arrested Walter Cruz and James Pantini for possession of suspected heroin and possession of syringes following a traffic stop on Locust Street. A subsequent investigation revealed that Pantini, age 46 of Roselle Park, and Cruz, a 42-year-old trade school student of Elizabeth, possessed several syringes containing suspected heroin along with several packets containing suspected heroin in the 2000 Mitsubishi that Cruz was operating. Pantini was also found to have active warrants from Newark Municipal Court. Both were processed at RPPD and later released pending a Union County Superior Court appearance.
