Three (3) contracts for various garbage pick-up services were awarded for Suburban Disposal, Inc. from Fairfield. The total amount awarded for all three contracts was a little over $2.5 million.
Resolution 146-17, for bulk waste pick-up, is a one-year contract for two pick-ups in June and October at $52,000. This is a 13% increase over last year’s contract (Resolution 79-16) for $46,000.
Resolution 147-17 is a five-year regular solid waste pick-up contract for a total of $1,989,000. This amount is a 33% increase over the 2012 contract awarded for $1,495,000 in Resolution 138-12.
Resolution 148-17 is a three-year contract for recycling collection for a total of $469,974. This is 26% more than was awarded in the amount of $372,738 through Resolution 176-14.
These amounts do not include tipping fees which are additional funds paid to dispose of what is collected through bulk, recycling, and regular garbage pick-ups.
