Temporary Lockdown At RPHS

Roselle Park High School (RPHS) had a lockdown from 9:25 a.m. until just a little before 11 in the morning.

According to RPHS principal Sarah Costa, a student had reported that he overhead other students discussing a gun while on school property.

We immediately locked down and called in the Roselle Park Police Department”, stated Principal Costa in a statement released through the Roselle Park School District (RPSD) Facebook page, “After investigation, it was determined that a student did post a threat on social media. The local and county police searched the building and deemed it safe. Once safe the lockdown was lifted.”

No further information was provided as to the student in question nor any action although the matter is currently considered an ongoing investigation with the Roselle Park Police Department.
