Suspect Arrested In Attempted Luring Incident

Earlier today, Roselle Park Police Detectives arrested a 22-year-old Roselle resident in connection with the attempted luring investigation from April 26th. Robert C. Tyson Jr. of Roselle was arrested today by Detective John Deegan.

Detective Deegan received a tip that a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle – a gold or tan Chevrolet Impala – was parked and occupied in a local Union County park. The caller reported that the driver of that vehicle also matched the description of the attempted luring suspect. While en route to that location, detectives passed a vehicle they believed was the suspect from the park. They conducted a traffic stop on Locust Street in the Borough of Roselle and soon confirmed that this was in fact that same vehicle.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of this car, Robert Tyson, was identified as the attempted luring suspect from the April 26th incident. Mr. Tyson was arrested and has an appearance pending in the Roselle Park Municipal Court on May 12th.
