Guitarist Paul Desilva and Roselle Park’s Poet Laureate Leona M Seufert will be performing at Roselle Park’s first Summer Arts Café on Thursday, August 30th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library located at 404 Chestnut Street. The free event will include coffee and cookies.
Paul Desilva, a Roselle Park resident, has been playing guitar since the age of eight and also likes to sing. He plays classically-tinged and Spanish instrumentals but he is versed in many other styles. He states, “I’m basically a singer/songwriter/guitarist who is on a musical quest and not trying to limit myself.”
Leona M Seufert is active in the arts in town. She is the town’s first Poet Laureate and has read her poems at the annual September 11th Memorial Service as well as provided writing workshops and readings at the Roselle Park Library and Casano Community Center. Seufert has published two poetry chapbooks, “The Memory Keeper’s Promise – Reflecting on Loss and Remembrance” which included the poems that she read at each of the Roselle Park September 11th Memorial Services and “From Here To There And Back Again, A Commuter’s Journey” which is a collection of poems she wrote about her daily commute into New York City over a 12-month period.
SummerFest’s goal is to publicize the town’s events and make Roselle Park a destination for summer fun.
