Strong Armed Robbery Reported At Roselle Park Train Station

On Monday, February 24th, 2014 at 8:52 p.m., officers from the New Jersey Transit Police Department along with the Roselle Park Police Department responded to Trinitas Hospital in Union to meet with a 19-year-old Roselle Park resident who was being treated for minor injuries sustained during a strong armed robbery that occurred at the Roselle Park Train Station, at approximately 7:30 p.m. that same evening.

According to the victim, he was walking into the train station parking lot closest to West Lincoln Avenue when he was approached from behind by a black male – approximately 20 to 30 years old – wearing a dark-colored hoodie and skull cap. He explained that he was punched in the face and fell to the ground as the suspect relieved him of his wallet and cash. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
