On November 9, 2011 at 4:40 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to a strong arm robbery (no weapon involved) of a 13-year-old male. The victim was robbed of his Apple iPhone in a red-colored case after he was asked by two (2) males if they could make a phone call with the phone. The victim complied and the suspects then refused to give it back to him. When he tried to take the phone back and followed one (1) of the suspects into the street on East Westfield Avenue, he was struck in the face with a closed fist; knocking him onto the pavement in the lane of traffic.
The suspects are described as two (2) black males, middle school to high school aged, wearing dark blue or black hoodies with lighter colored jeans and black shoes or boots.
One (1) male was taller than the other and both suspects fled eastbound on foot
across East Westfield Avenue into traffic causing several vehicles to stop to avert
hitting them.
The two (2) males had previously followed the victim from the Roselle Park
Middle School walking east on East Grant Avenue and then south on Dalton Street to East Westfield Avenue.
The Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) ask that everyone report any suspicious activity immediately and anyone with information regarding this, or any other open case, to please contact the RPPD at (908) 245-2300.
