Stop On Galloping Hill Ends In Arrest

On February 25, 2011 at 12:19 p.m., Patrolman Joshua Medrano observed a Ford traveling northbound on Galloping Hill Road in violation of 39:8-1 (failure to inspect) and 39:3-76.2F (failure to wear seatbelt). A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of two small sandwich bags containing suspected marijuana, a hand rolled partially smoked cigar containing suspected marijuana, a glass pipe containing suspected marijuana residue, and a metal pipe containing suspected marijuana residue.

The driver, Christopher Acosta, age 22, of Colonia was arrested and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of CDS) and 2C:36-2. (possession of drug paraphernalia) and motor vehicle summonses for 39:8-1 (failure to inspect); 39:3-76.2f (failure to wear seatbelt) and 39:4-49.1 (possession of CDS in a motor vehicle). Acosta was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of March 3, 2011.
