The Church of the Assumption will be holding its 12th annual St. Anthony Italian Family Feast from June 7th – 10th. The events – which include homemade cooking, an Italian-style café, food venders, entertainment, music, amusements, and games – will run from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursday, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday, and from 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Sunday.
The festival will be held on the Church grounds at 113 Chiego Place. Local dance and karate schools are scheduled to put on exhibitions, and Roselle Park’s Poet Laureate, Leona Seufert, will do a poetry reading on Saturday, June 9th at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., there will be the Reeds, Rhythm & All That Brass Big Band.
The festival is also a faith-oriented celebration focusing on devotion to St. Anthony. After the noon Mass on June 10th, there will be a procession through the streets with the statue of St. Anthony accompanied with music by the Tony Neglia Band. The 100 year old statue, which was refurbished last year, was part of the parish when it was founded in 1907.
Pre-Sale ride tickets will be available after all Masses with a discounted price of $12.00 per sheet. Thursday night will be the “Pay One Price Ride Night” where $25 will be pay for for an unlimited ride bracelet. There will also be nightly 50/50’s and a SUPER 50/50!
