Speeding With No Headlights Leads To Arrest Of Two Belleville Men

On January 8, 2011 at 1:09 p.m., patrolman Matthew Disano was on patrol in the area of East Westfield Avenue and Pershing Avenue. Patrolman Disano observed a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed with no headlights.

A traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of East Westfield Avenue and Walnut Street. An investigation led to the discovery of a marijuana cigar still partially burning, (2) vials of suspected cocaine, and (1) glass pipe with marijuana residue.

The driver, John Horvath, 23, of Belleville was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without headlights, failure to maintain lane, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

The passenger, Tony Marco, 42, of Belleville, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Horvath and Marco were released pending a Superior Court hearing on January 13, 2011.
