On Monday, August 30, 2011 at approximately 1:55 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan observed a black Hyundai traveling westbound at 35 MPH in a posted 25 MPH zone. A motor vehicle stop on the 100 block of East Lincoln Avenue resulted in the in discovery of a plastic bag containing three (3) clear syringes, a Ziplock bag which containing a blue shot glass, a small amount of Chore Boy copper. (Chore Boy is commonly used as a filter to ingest narcotics), two (2) small clear plastic bags which contained suspected marijuana, two (2) white oval pills labeled “Watson 349″ suspected to be hydrocodone, one (1) cigarette-style ceramic pipe, suspected marijuana, a silver and black digital scale which had suspected marijuana residue on the weighing platform, and several empty pink wax paper folds containing a powder residue.
The driver, Enrique Maseda, age 36 of Elizabeth, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia), 2C:36-6 (possession of hypodermic syringe), and 39:4-98 (speeding).
The passenger, Joseph Priolo, age 35 of Elizabeth, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of Schedule I, II, III, IV narcotic) 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia).
Both were released pending a Union County Superior Court first appearance date of September 9, 2011.
