The special meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 7th, will be a closed session that will deal with two (2) grievances from Department of Public Works (DPW) employees.
In line with the grievance procedure of the DPW collective bargaining agreement, a hearing before the governing body as a whole is allowed by an employee.
Details of the grievances are private and only the resolutions will be made public once – or if – the governing body decides on an action in response to the grievances. Such personnel matters are protected from the public under the Open Public Meetings Act.
The meeting will follow the protocol of a public meeting which allows for two (2) public comment portions. The first one at the beginning of the meeting is restricted to agenda items and the second one – after the closed session – is open to any topic.
The meeting will be separate of and before the regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. later that night in council chambers of the Roselle Park Municipal Complex located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
