After Thursday night’s Mayor & Council closed session at the end of the regular meeting, the mayor called for a special public meeting to discuss the Department of Public Works (DPW) Superintendent.
The closed session was called to address Resolution 57-16 which was on the evening’s agenda. That resolution was to re-appoint Mark Pasquali to the position of DPW Superintendent for an additional 12-month probationary period. Mr. Pasquali was appointed to the position for a 12-month probationary period initially in 2015. Before then, Mr. Pasquali was an employee of Neglia Engineering, the Borough’s Engineering firm, and was appointed acting superintendent. In 2015 Mr. Pasquali was appointed as an individual to the position at a salary of $80,000. at that time, his probationary period was to end this month but was extended.
No other information was provided in Resolution 57-16 as to the proposed salary or reason for an extended probationary period.
The meeting will be open to the public and include a public comment portion that will allow residents to talk on any subject for seven minutes. The meeting is scheduled to be held on Monday, February 8th at 6:30 p.m. at Borough Hall. The meeting will be taped by The Concerned Citizens of Roselle Park.
