Sherman Students Recognized For Art & Music

16 Sherman students were recognized at the March 27th Board Of Education (BOE) meeting.

Three students – Evan Birmingham, Josephine Chatelain, and Samara Frias – were recognized as NJPAC Artists. The NJPAC Student Exhibition is sponsored by the Art Educators of New Jersey (AENJ).

The AENJ Youth Art Month Design Finalists from Sherman School were Ying Chow, Sofia Ortiz, and Gianna Qiu.

Jacquelin George, Gianna Qiu, and Yasmin Santos were recognized for their artwork at the Union County Youth Art Month Exhibit.

Ying Chow was the AENJ Youth Art Month Design Contest Winner. Her artwork was part of an exhibit at the statehouse in Trenton.

Gianna Qiu was the Union County YAM Artwork representative for the Trenton State House.

Highlighting the musical talent of Sherman School, Felix Leingang and Madison O’Connell will be taking part in the Morris-Union Jointure Music Festival Band on April 29th.

On that same date, eight students from Sherman will also be in the Morris-Union Jointure Music Festival Choral:

Some students were not present to receive their certificates because they were practicing for the upcoming performance.
