Seatbelt Violation Leads To Arrest

On September 2, 2010 at approximately 3:03 a.m. in the morning, while on patrol traveling south on the 100 block of Chestnut Street, Patrolman Hussam Assad observed a silver Ford Taurus traveling north with the driver not wearing a seatbelt, in violation of N.J.S.A. 39:3-76.2F. A motor vehicle stop led to an investigation resulting in the discovery of a small glass vial with a pink cap containing a white powdery substance suspected to be CDS cocaine. The cocaine was found in possession of the passenger of the vehicle, Salvatore Croce Jr.

The driver was issued motor vehicle summons for 39:3-76.2F and released on scene pending Roselle Park Municipal Court first appearance on September 8, 2010.

Mr. Croce Jr was placed under arrest, and charged with possession of CDS cocaine 2C:35-10A(1). He was released pending Superior Court first appearance on September 8, 2010.
