On Friday, September 23, 2011 at approximately 2:10 p.m., on West Westfield Avenue near Locust Street, Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan observed a silver Acura RSX with the driver of the vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. A motor vehicle stop on East 1st Avenue in Roselle, NJ resulted in the discovery of two (2) sandwich bags containing approximately two (2) ounces of suspected marijuana, three (3) grams of loose suspected marijuana, and one (1) small clear sandwich bag containing suspected marijuana.
The driver, Alexsander Gonzalez, age of 29 of Elizabeth, was arrested and charged with 2C:35-7 (possession of CDS within 1000 ft. of school property), 2C:35-5(b)(11) (possession with intent to distribute marijuana), and 2C:35-10(a)(3) (possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana); 39:3-76.2(f) (failure to wear seatbelt), 39:3-40 (suspended driver), and 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle). Mr. Gonzalez was released pending a Union County Superior Court date of October 5, 2011.
