On May 3, 2011, in the area of West Westfield Avenue and Faitoute Avenue, Patrolmen Mithcell White and James Kompany observed a silver Toyota traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue. The front seat passenger was not wearing his seatbelt in violation of NJS 39: 3-76.2(f).
A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of six (6) wax folds of suspected heroin, one (1) small Ziplock bag containing suspected marijuana, one (1) hypodermic syringe, and one (1) pair of brass knuckles in the possession of the passenger. Nikolay Dorofeev, age 23 of Marlboro, NJ was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of heroin); 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana); 2C:36-6 (possession of a hypodermic syringe); 2C:39-3(e) (possession of a weapon); and 39:3-76.2(f) (failure to wear seatbelt) and was released pending a Superior Court date of May 18, 2011.
