At the August 16, 2012 Mayor & Council meeting, Scott Nicol was nominated and appointed Second Ward Council to fulfill the unexpired term of Marc Caswell who had submitted his letter of resignation the night before due to moving out of the borough.
A former Navy SEAL, Councilman Nicol moved to Roselle Park in July of 2005 with his wife and three (3) children after having lived in Florida and Hawaii as well as Rochester, New York where he received his MBA from the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester. While in Roselle Park, he has coached kindergarten through third grade wrestling and last year helped out the Central Jersey Squad. He was approached and asked to submit his name as a possible appointee. The councilman has confirmed that he will run as the Republican Second Ward Council candidate for the November general election.
When asked what he wanted his constituents to know about him as their new representative for the remainder of 2012, councilman Nicol stated, “I want to make sure they know that over the next four or so months, I’m going to be working hard for them as councilman and I look forward to meeting them.”
