On Saturday, July 28, 2012 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Sergeant David Pitts and Patrolman Richard Gaylord were dispatched to the area of Gordon Street at West Westfield Avenue to assist Roselle Police who were searching for a carjacking suspect. According to Roselle Police, an attempted carjacking occurred in Roselle in the area of Amsterdam Avenue. The suspect, a Hispanic male wearing a blue jacket, fled into Roselle Park over the Gordon Street bridge. A search of the area revealed no suspects. The matter is under investigation by the Roselle Police Department.
