RPHS Student Named A People To People Ambassador

Roselle Park student Isaiah Chestnut has been nominated for a ‘People To People’ Student Ambassadors Program (link). The ninth grader, who attends Roselle Park High School, was honored for that nomination by being presented a Certificate of Recognition at the May 5th Mayor & Council meeting.

The mayor spoke about Isaiah before presenting the certificate, “Our school system along with Isaiah’s foundation at home have allowed him to really achieve this high recognition at a young age and we are very proud of you.”

“I do want to present this to Isaiah because he is really one of the stars of Roselle Park,” Councilman Michael Yakubov stated, who knows Isaiah since the councilman’s younger brother and the young man are friends. He added regarding Isaiah, “He is a tremendously bright individual.”

“It’s a great experience that I would not be able to ever experience again,” said Isaiah during the presentation, accompanied by his mother Edwina. He recounted how he was notified of his nomination via a letter. He then attended a meeting and an interview in which he had to have three (3) recommendation letters from teachers. Isaiah leaves for Europe in July for 20 days and he will visit England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. He is looking forward to traveling abroad.
