RPHS Marching Band’s “Our 70s Show!” Takes The Field

The Roselle Park High School (RPHS) Panthers Marching Band debuted their 2018 field show Friday night in front of a welcoming crowd of family, friends, and residents. The 2018-19 band’s “Our 70s Show!” premiered at Herm Shaw Field at 7 p.m. on August 24th.

The band has been working on the piece since last spring and put in the work to give the best show yet.

The weather was picture perfect as the band took to the field. The kids sounded and looked great!

Mr. Bob Masucci spoke first, then Mrs. Cancino read a letter from her son and Board Of Education member Kevin Cancino who couldn’t attend the show. Then the kids marched into the field, got into position, and played the National Anthem. Then it was on to the show which started with a crowd favorite “Bohemian Rhapsody”. As they played songs from the rest of the show, their footwork was awesome. They moved so much!

All their hard work paid off, having memorized a lot of new music and drills.

Band competition begins on September 15th every weekend until Thanksgiving.
