RP Students Show That RP Loves Arts

The first half of 2016 has had more than two dozen Roselle Park students recognized for the artistry.

On March 11th, two Roselle Park students were recognized for their outstanding artwork at the New Jersey State Youth Art Month (YAM) reception at the State House in Trenton. Sadie Lee Lavache, 2nd grader at Robert Gordon Elementary School, and Brisa Roca, a 9th grader at Roselle Park High School, represented Union County at the exhibit and both received awards for their artwork.

Sadie and Brisa’s artworks were two of six selected from the county as Best In Show and were on exhibit at the State House from March 4th to 11th. Their art teacher, Terry Scutro, accompanied them to the ceremony. Below are photographs of their art:

Also in March, Roselle Park had 25 students selected to exhibit their artwork in the Union County Youth Art Month exhibit which was held at the Elizabethtown Gas Company Lobby at the Liberty Hall Center in Union.

Earlier in the year, five Roselle Park students had their artwork exhibited at the Winter Art Exhibit sponsored by the AENJ. The student artists were honored on January 24th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The artwork was on display in the Victoria Theatre through April 2nd.

In April, three Roselle Park students had their artwork on exhibit at the AENJ Spring Art Exhibit. The student artists were honored on April 17th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The artwork will be on display in the Victoria Theatre through June 3rd.
