RP Police Apprehend Stabbing Suspects

On October 26, 2010, at about 2:02 a.m., while on patrol, dispatch relayed information to all units regarding a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) originating in Roselle. Dispatch explained that several minutes in the past Roselle Police responded to a stabbing that occurred at a bar in their jurisdiction (Skybox at 588 Raritan Road). Suspects were two (2) males who were seen leaving the crime scene in a silver Dodge Charger. Vehicle was last seen heading towards Cranford.

At about 2:04 a.m., while on patrol traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue in the area of Roosevelt Street, Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a silver Dodge Charger traveling westbound on West Westfield Avenue passing Roosevelt Street. He then notified headquarters of the possible suspect vehicle and advised dispatch that he would be stopping the vehicle to investigate.

Patrolman Florczak was backed up by Patrolman Lanza, Patrolman Hernandez, and Sgt. Cosentino.

The occupants were detained for further investigation. Roselle Police were notified and responded to take custody of the two men who were eventually charged with the aggravated assault in Roselle.
