Patrons of the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library (RPVML) will now be able to digitally borrow from a selection of thousands of audiobooks, e-books, movies, television shows, music albums, and even graphic novels through Hoopla Digital (link).
The new free service is provided as a benefit of the library’s membership in the LMxAC (Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium). Hoopla Digital is an online service that allows users to stream or temporarily download audio and video 24/7 to a web browser, smartphone, or tablet for free.
Any Roselle Park library cardholder can visit http://www.lmxac.org/info (link) and create an account to gain access to available titles. Users can borrow up to five (5) items a month. Movie and TV content are available for three (3) days after borrowing. Music albums are available for seven (7) day. Audiobooks, eBooks, and comics are available for 21 days. If not connected to a wi-fi signal, data usage will apply.
Steve Andriolo, Library Catalog and Digital Content Specialist at LMxAC, stated, “This new service will give patrons access to a variety of popular and educational titles anytime, anywhere – even if the library is closed. Anyone with a library card will be able to explore a wide variety of content with no late fees or waiting periods.”
“It is our mission to empower the evolution of public libraries while helping them to meet the needs of the mobile generation,” said Jeff Jankowski, founder and owner of Hoopla Digital, “We’ve worked for years to create a best-in-breed service that is fun, fast, and reliable. We continue to secure content deals to expand our offering of popular and niche movies, TV shows, music and audiobooks.”
