Roselle Park Town Wide Picnic & National Night Out

The Roselle Park Police Department will be presenting “National Night Out” on Tuesday evening, August 3, 2010 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Roselle Park Middle School Parking lot located at 57 West Grant Ave.

The Roselle Park Police Department will showcase public safety programs; there will also be give-a-ways, demonstrations and displays.

DJ Papa Joe Colletti has offered to donate his time to play music throughout the evening.

Prior to the National Night Out activities, the annual town wide picnic sponsored by the Roselle Park Community Center Association will be held in the backyard of the Casano Community Center, 314 Chestnut St., adjacent to the Middle School parking lot. Refreshments at the picnic, which starts at 6 p.m., are free.

“National Night Out” (NNO) is a crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) which started in 1983. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

It is customary to turn your porch light on that evening to show your support against crime. For more information call (908) 245-0666.
