Roselle Park Residents Asked To Curtail Outdoor Water Use

New Jersey American Water advises customers in 17 municipalities in Somerset and Union Counties, which includes Roselle Park, to curtail outdoor water use as the company repairs a 48-inch water main. Customers should refrain from outdoor water use and conserve water inside their homes until the further notice.

New Jersey American Water crews began emergency repairs this morning on a 48-inch main break in Scotch Plains along Portland Avenue near Watchung View Place. It is estimated that repairs will be completed within the next 72 hours.

New Jersey American Water advises customers in the following communities to curtail outdoor water use while emergency repairs are underway on the 48-inch water main and to please discontinue lawn watering and conserve water indoors until further notice. While repairs are made, customers may experience low water pressure.

Once repairs are completed, customers may experience cloudy water and should simply run their water until it is clear before use.
