Roselle Man Arrested On CDS Charges

On July 9, 2011 at approximately 3:22 a.m., Patrolman Richard Gaylord observed a male walking northbound on Locust Street smoking what appeared to be a cigar. As the male passed his patrol vehicle, the police officer detected the strong odor of suspected burning marijuana. Patrolman Gaylord exited his vehicle and walked toward the male who was now at the corner of Locust Street at West Westfield Avenue.

The male then was observed dropping the cigar from his right hand and dragging his right foot over it. Patrolman Gaylord observed this to be a marijuana cigarette “blunt” on the ground.

An investigation led to the discovery of one (1) small, clear, Ziplock bag containing suspected marijuana. The male, Kevin Landrum, age 21 of Roselle, was arrested and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana) and 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia). Mr. Landrum was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of July 14, 2011.
