The governing body has postponed for the second time the vote on the amended redeveloper’s agreement for the site locally known as the Romerovski property. This amendment would have officially removed AvalonBay Communities as a member of the limited liability company and replace it with Fernmoor Homes.
Resolution 323-18 was originally tabled at the November 1st municipal meeting after an executive session. It was put on the schedule for the November 15th Mayor & Council meeting but that was canceled due to snow.
The resolution was on for the November 29th meeting but the special redevelopment counsel firm of Savo, Schalk, Gillespie, O’Grodnick & Fisher was not available this past Thursday.
Fernmoor Homes has presented a plan of a 218-apartment complex with 33 of them being affordable housing units (link).
The amendment to the redeveloper’s agreement would not only lower the number of residential units by 31 apartments but it would also extend the deadline to begin construction from December 31, 2018, to December 31, 2020.
The vote for the amendment to the agreement is set for Thursday, December 6th, at 7 p.m. at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
