Robert Krahnert Promoted To DPW Superintendent

Current Department of Public Works (DPW) acting superintendent Robert Krahnert was promoted by resolution to DPW Superintendent. Technically, Mr. Krahnert will serve as Interim Principal Public Works Manager pursuant to NJSA 40A:9-154.6g.7c until he receives necessary certification.

Mr. Krahnert will have an initial three-year term which will start on December 24th of this year and end on December 23, 2021. His prorated salary will start at $85,000. The appointment is conditional upon Mr. Krahnert attaining certification as a Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) no later than December 24, 2019 – one year from the effective date of the appointment. An increase of $5,000 in the salary will also accompany the CPWM certification.

Mr. Krahnert was hired as Assistant Superintendent to the DPW in July of 2016. In February of this year, Mr. Krahnert became the acting superintendent when Mark Pasquali’s superintendent contract was not renewed after he and the governing body could not come to agreeable terms on the duration of his contract.
