Between April and October Roselle Park residents and other residents of Union County will have 18 opportunities to dispose of their paper and hazardous household waste.
Four (4) dates in April, June, August, and October are dedicated to collecting hazardous household items. The list of acceptable items includes:
- Aerosol Cans
- Antifreeze
- Batteries
- Caustics
- Corrosives & cleaners
- Fire Extinguishers
- Fluorescent Bulbs (unbroken)
- Gasoline
- Mercury Switches
- Motor Oil & Oil Filters
- Oil Based Paints
- Oil Based Varnishes
- Pesticides & herbicides
- Pool Chemicals
- Thermostats
- Recycle Tires (Limit 8 automobile tires per household. No rims.)
The other 12 dates are for the disposal and shredding of confidential/sensitive documents. These dates are for household only – no businesses. Participants are asked to limit themselves to four (4) bags or boxes with a 10 lb. limit per container.
