Resident Conned In ‘Lost Key’ Scam

On March 23, 2015 at approximately 4 p.m., an elderly resident from the east side of town was approached at his home by an unknown female who stated she lived down the street.

The woman went on to add that she had locked herself out of her residence and needed a ride to the realtor to obtain another key. The gentleman assisted by driving her to two (2) separate locations in Elizabeth where the female requested $60 for the deposit of a key with the intention of getting his money back as promised on the return back home. Suspicious of the female’s activities, the man demanded his money back on the spot. The female ran from the vehicle and never returned.

The female was described as a light-skinned black female, approximately 5’3, 140 lbs.
